CORY MCKENZIE
Cory McKenzie is a Wiradjuri and Gamilaroi artist working within the Griffith region. Cory was the recipient of the 2019 NAIDOC 'Artist of the Year' award in Griffith. Cory dedicates his art form to all things family, culture and connection to country. Cory’s arts practice engages and encourages growth within Aboriginal art and culture for the younger members of his Community.
”I let my artwork unfold organically and base my work completely on what I am feeling. I believe my work is an adaptation of the many different situations, stories and flow state of my life. My art flows subconscious, it's creativity mixed with my cultural upbringing and teachings from my father.”
